Solution
Disable Extra Extensions:NOTE: For computers running a version of the Macintosh® OS below 7.5x, skip to the next procedure.
- Close any open programs or windows and return to the desktop.
- Click the Apple menu, choose Control Panels, and then choose Extensions Manager.
- Click the Duplicate Set button.
- Type Print Shop Extensions in the New Duplicate Set field and click OK.
- Remove the checks from any item on this list, except for the following:
For System 7.5x
Extensions- Apple CD-ROM
- Apple Multimedia Tuner
- Foreign File Access
- QuickTime
- QuickTime Power Plug
- Print Monitor
- Software for the installed printer
- Sound Manager
- Control Panels
- Apple Menu Options
- Date and Time
- Desktop Patterns
- General Controls
- Memory
- Mouse
- For System 7.6x, 8.x, or 9.x
Extensions- Apple CD/DVD Writer
- Apple QD3D HW Driver
- Apple QD3D HW Plug-In
- Audio CD Access

- Click the Restart button to restart the computer with the extra extensions disabled. Continue to the next procedure to reinstall Print Shop®.
Performing the following procedure will disable extra extensions in earlier versions of the Macintosh® OS.
- Close any open windows or programs and return to the desktop.
- Double-click the Hard drive and then double-click the System folder.
- Locate the Extensions (disabled) folder. If that folder does not exist, perform the following:
- Click the File menu and choose New Folder.
- Type Extensions (disabled) as the name of this new folder and press the Enter key.
- Double-click the Extensions and Extensions (disabled) folders to open them. Adjust these windows so the contents of both can be seen at the same time.
- Click and drag any extension from Extensions to Extensions (disabled) except for the following:
- Apple CD-ROM
- Apple Multimedia Tuner
- Foreign File Access
- QuickTime
- QuickTime Power Plug
- Software for the installed folder
- Print Monitor
- Sound Manager
- Close the Extensions and Extensions (disabled) folders. The System folder should now be visible.
- Locate the Control Panels (disabled) folder. If that folder does not exist, perform the following:
- Click the File menu and choose New Folder.
- Type Control Panels (disabled) as the name of this new folder and press the Enter key.
- Double-click the Control Panels and Control Panels (disabled) folders. Adjust these windows so the contents of both can be seen at the same time.
- Click and drag any control panel from Control Panels to Control Panels (disabled) except for the following:
- Apple Menu Options
- Date and Time
- Desktop Patterns
- General Controls
- Memory
- Mouse
- When this is done, click the Special menu and choose Restart. The computer will now restart with the extra extensions disabled. Continue
| Disabling any extra extensions during the installation will help minimize the chance of a conflict between an application and an extension. Perform the following procedure to do this. |
