Problem

When I print my project nothing happens.

Solution

When you finished your project and you are ready to print, but after selecting the print option, nothing happens.

Unfortunately printing problems such as this are very difficult to troubleshoot, such as does not print clearly, is not aligned correctly, closes the program unexpectedly or the printer does not respond.  We currently do not have a resolution that corrects those printer issues within Print Shop directly; however we have reported the printing issues to the development team who are working to find a resolution.  In the meantime we can suggest the following work-around option.

Print Shop 4.0 allows you to save the project as a JPG or PDF file.  Once saved in either format, you can then print from that file. Another alternative may be grouping the items on the project may also resolve the issue of the project not printing.  How to complete either steps are outlined below.

To save the project as a PDF file use the following steps:

  1. First we recommend that you save the project as a Print Shop file so it can be edited later if needed.
  2. Once you have a working project saved, navigate to the Menu Bar click the option Save As PDF.  The 'Save As' window will open and the file name will be the same as used for the Print Shop file, we suggest leaving it as the same name as your Print Shop file. This will make it easier to locate the file when ready to print.
  3. Click Save. The default location the file is saved to is the Documents folder.
**Note specifically where it's saved just to be sure and to avoid frustration in finding it later.
  4. In PDF Options select the resolution in the drop down menu. The default is set to 150 DPI.
  5. Click Continue. It will seem there is nothing happening, check the Documents folder for the PDF file.
**Note: depending on the size of the project it may take some time for the PDF file to be generated. Grouping the items before saving the project as a PDF can shorten the time it takes to generate the PDF.

To save the project as a JPEG file use the following steps:

  1. First we recommend that you save the project as a Print Shop file so it can be edited later if needed.
  2. Once you have a working project saved, navigate to the Menu Bar and click the option Save As JPEG.
  4. In JPEG Options select the Image Quality by adjusting the slider bar between Lower and Higher. Select the Image Resolution by moving the slider bar between 75 DPI and 300 DPI.
  5. Click Continue. A screen will display showing the process of the JPEG being generated. Once this window closes, the JPEG has been generated.
Note: depending on the size of the project it may take some time for the JPEG file to be generated. Grouping the items before saving the project as a JPEG can shorten the time it takes to generate the JPEG.

Use the following steps to group the items on the project.

  1. Launch program.
  2. Open the saved project.
  3. Click one of the items on the project.
  4. Hold down the Control key (Ctrl), tap the A key, this will select all the items on the page.
  5. In the menu bar click the drop down arrow by Group, click on Group.
NOTE: To ungroup the items use the above steps and click on Un-Group.
If you are creating a multiple page project the above steps will have to be repeated on each page.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
