Problem

(SQL Error: XJ040) Could not establish a connection with the local database. Setup cannot continue.


Solution

Calendar Creator <1.0.1.399> encountered the following error:
(SQL Error: XJ040) Could not establish a connection with the local database. Setup cannot continue.

This will require uninstalling the program, removing the Calendar Creator folder left behind on the hard drive.

Please use the following steps to resolve the issue:

Uninstall the program using Programs and Features located in the Control Panel. Use the following steps to locate the Control Panel for the operating system on the computer.


Windows Vista and 7: Click the Start button in the pop up menu click on Control Panel.
Windows 8.0 and 8.1: Move the cursor to the lower right corner of the screen, click on Settings in the pop up window, then click Control Panel.
Windows 10: Using the right mouse button click on the Start button in the pop-up menu click on Control Panel.

   1. In Control Panel Programs & Features.
   2. In the list of programs displayed locate the name of the program to be uninstalled .
   3. Click on Uninstall.
   4. Click Yes you want to uninstall the program.
   5. If asked click Automatic for the uninstall type.
   6. Follow the prompts to complete the uninstall.
   7. Reboot the computer if prompted.

The next step will be to deleted the Calendar Creator from the hard drive. Please use the following steps for the operating system on the computer to
delete the Calendar Creator folder from the Program Data Folder. 


NOTE: If you do not see a Program Data folder follow the steps at the end of this article to Show Hidden Files and Folders.


Windows 8.1 & 10
    1. On the Menu bar locate the Manila folder and double click it to open.
    2. Click This PC.
    3. Double click the following:
          · C: Drive
          · Double click on Program Data folder to open.
    4. Locate the StoryRock folder, double click to open.
    5. Click the Calendar Creator folder to highlight the folder.
    6. Using the right mouse button click the folder, in the drop down menu click Delete.
    7. Click Yes you want to delete.
    8. Close all windows back to the desktop.
    9. Open Recycling Bin and empty it.
   10. Reboot the computer.


Window 7, Vista:
    1. Click Start button.
    2. Click My Computer.
    3. Double click the following to open:
            · C: Drive
            · Program Data folder
    4. Locate the StoryRock folder and double click to open.
    5. Click the Calendar Creator folder to highlight the folder.
    6. Using the right mouse button click the folder, in the drop down menu click Delete.
    7. Click Yes you want to delete.
    8. Close all windows back to the desktop.
    9. Open Recycling Bin and empty it.
   10. Reboot the computer.


Windows 8
    1. From the Start screen type Computer.
    2. Click Computer.
    3. Double click the following:
           · C: Drive
           · Program Data folder
    4. Locate the StoryRock folder and double click to open.
    5. Click the Calendar Creator folder to highlight the folder.
    6. Using the right mouse button click the folder, in the drop down menu click Delete.
    7. Click Yes you want to delete.
    8. Close all windows back to the desktop.
    9. Open Recycling Bin and empty it.
   10. Reboot the computer.


To display hidden files and folders.

       1. Open the Control Panel.
       2. Click Appearance and Personalization. NOTE: If View By is set to Small or Large icons move onto #4.
       3. Click Folder Options.
       4. Click the View tab.
       5. Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then click APPLY.
